BRITISH OPEN STAFF BAG
The British Open returns to Northern Ireland and the storied links of Royal Portrush for the first time since 2019. To mark the occasion, the Steam Line Collection – featuring a limited-edition staff bag and headcovers – pays tribute to the historic Portrush steam line, which has been in operation since 1855.
Steam Line Staff Bag
Crafted to honor the oldest major in golf, the Steam Line staff bag is rich in symbolism and Northern Irish heritage. The color palette of black, red, and green, accented with gold, reflects the iconic steam train that runs alongside Royal Portrush. Thoughtful design details throughout pay homage to both the region and the tournament’s legacy.
Design Inspirations
The bag’s design draws directly from the Portrush steam line. The red and black represent the train’s powerful engine, while green nods to the passenger cars. Black side panels with rivet-style detailing mirror the train’s industrial character, giving the bag an authentic, vintage edge.
Subtle yet meaningful touches bring the story to life. A vintage-style train ticket patch on the top valuables pocket commemorates this year’s host venue. A clover sits just below – a proud tribute to Northern Ireland. The number ’25 appears on both side panels to mark this year’s championship, while a miniature train on the handle and an “All Aboard!” message on the front pocket add playful nods. Inside, the pocket lining is patterned after the train’s original seat cushions.
